The people behind the boat
Sorrento Boat Rental is a small local operation, not a booking portal. You write to us, a person answers, and the skipper who replies on WhatsApp is usually the one waiting for you at the pier.
Who we are
The business is run by Clemente, who handles every request personally: quotes, dates, the deposit and the meeting point. The boats are skippered by local captains from the Sorrento peninsula, Catello among them, who have been taking guests to Capri and along the Amalfi Coast for years. Our partner fleet from Sorrento is operated by Alberto of Excursion Boat Sorrento, with his own crews.
The boats
Two house boats, the Mimì 850 gozzo (up to 8) and the Rio 35 (up to 12), plus three partner boats from 7 to 12 guests: Jeranto 7.50 S, Raffaelli 37 and Itama 38. And Gaia, the licence-free boat you can drive yourself. Every boat goes out with your group only.
Where we leave from
Marina Piccola, the port of Sorrento, ten minutes on foot below the main square. If you are staying on the Naples or Pompeii side, we can leave from Castellammare di Stabia instead. The exact meeting point and a map arrive with your confirmation.
How a booking works
Send the date, the group size and the tour you have in mind. You receive a written quote, usually within the hour. Once date and boat are agreed, a €100 deposit holds the booking; the balance is paid on the day. If the weather turns, you move the date or get a full refund.
Prices
One fixed price per boat, never per person. Full-day tours from €750 (Capri €800, Positano or the Amalfi Coast €900 on the Mimì 850), the two-hour sunset cruise from €350. Skipper, fuel, drinks, snacks, snorkel masks and towels are always included; lunch, the Capri landing fee and the Blue Grotto ticket are the only extras, and they are written on every page.
